Two years on: Global Hunger Response
DownloadTWO YEARS ON.
In May 2022, World Vision declared a Category III global emergency to respond to the mounting hunger crisis. Now, two years later, we continue reflecting upon the worsening crisis alongside our achievements across the organisation.
This past year led to great impact, appropriate adjustments:
- Over 13 million people reached this fiscal year, including more than 7.5 million vulnerable children.
- Completed a planned strategic shift to better address the ongoing global hunger crisis in an integrated, sustainable way; includes a planned integration of the GHR coordination team with World Vision's Disaster Management and ENOUGH campaign teams.
- Continued focussing on maximising our impact for the most vulnerable populations while maintaining quality reporting and services.
But we're still not done.
This report not only reflects on how we've built our response since its onset in 2022 and the impact of the Response in 2023. It also looks forward to our next year of work through our cohesive, sustained efforts. We will continue to not only provide urgent life-saving assistance to the most vulnerable but also continue addressing the underlying causes of food insecurity and malnutrition and help build people’s resilience.
