Disaster risk reduction work in Myanmar

World Vision International - Myanmar has been operating in Myanmar since 1960, with official registration with the Ministry of Home Affairs in 1993. This registration complements MOUs with the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement. Along with its microfinance partner VisionFund Myanmar, World Vision International - Myanmar is one of the largest NGOs in Myanmar.

PRIORITIES

Disaster management and risk reduction are integrated into World Vision International -Myanmar’s programming, contributing to achieving and sustaining the four child well- being objectives:

1. Increase in children with positive & peaceful relationships in families and communities

2. Increase in girls and boys protected from violence

3. Increase in children who are well nourished

4. Increase in primary school children who can read
