Growing up in the Climate Crisis: Lebanon
This study marks the inaugural phase among a series of two consecutive research projects scheduled for release.
Exploring the impact of key climate risks on children’s well-being and rights, their preparedness for climate change disaster(s), and the views on climate change within different generations.
The research adopted a mixed method approach in terms of desk review, descriptive case studies and survey to gain an in-depth and multi-faceted exploration of climate change’s impact on children, adolescents and youth in Akkar context.

Former Child Journalist Graduates as Professional Journalist from college
World Vision Zambia, in collaboration with Zambia News and Information Services (ZANIS) and private media stations, has been actively involved in empowering children to have a voice on issues affecting their well-being. The primary goal is to make children's voices heard through the media and influence policy changes to end violence against them while also allowing them to participate in decision-making processes. Lubona was among the children who were trained in the basics of journalism and child advocacy through these initiatives.

In a nation where every door holds a story, the country grapples with the upheaval of an economic crisis and currency devaluation. Beyond these economic struggles, families go to bed each night with empty stomachs, and children attend school with hunger gnawing at them. This harsh reality underscores the pressing need for parents to not only overcome these challenges but also take the additional step of enrolling their children in school.

Girls married off to reduce financial burden
In Bangladesh, approximately 51% of girls are married before their 18th birthday and 22% are married before the age of 15. Child marriage is more common in rural areas where 60% of girls are married before age 18, compared to 55% in urban areas. The minimum legal age for marriage in Bangladesh is 18 years for girls; however, the Child Marriage Restraint Act 2017 includes a loophole where a court can allow child marriage in ‘special cases’.
