Kyi Minn, Dr.

National Director, World Vision Myanmar

Dr. Kyi Minn has a long history of serving in various roles across the World Vision Partnership. He brings to this role, more than 20 years of experience in senior management and global health in the Asia Pacific region. He is currently a member of the expert reference group of the Peter Doherty Institute for Infection and Immunity, the University of Melbourne, Australia as well as the senior health expert at the Myanmar Health and Development Consortium (MHDC) and Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (UMFCCI) in Myanmar.  He is also an honorary fellow at the Nossal Institute for Global Health, the University of Melbourne in Australia.

Dr. Kyi first joined World Vision Cambodia in 1991 to lead the National Paediatric Hospital in Phnom Penh, which was then funded and operated by World Vision International.  From 2000-2002, he was a Senior Programme Officer and Health Advisor at World Vision Australia, managing AusAID-funded projects in Myanmar and Thailand. He continued his career as a Lecturer/Public Health Consultant with Nossal Institute for Global Health, the University of Melbourne, managing a Mekong regional health program delivering immunisation training initiatives in collaboration with National EPI Programmes.

He returned to World Vision, in 2006, as Operations Director for Myanmar managing all programme operations in Myanmar, including Area Development Programmes (ADPs). In 2007, he joined the World Vision Asia Pacific Regional Office as Regional HIV Advisor and then as Regional Health Advisor for East Asia, until 2017. While at the Regional Office, he was seconded, in 2008, for several months to the Global Rapid Response Team to lead the response for Cyclone Nargis.  

Dr. Kyi Minn obtained medical degrees from University of Medicine (1), in Yangon, with Master of Public Health from National University of Singapore. He also received postgraduate training from Harvard T.H Chan School of Public Health, Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, and Graduate Institute of Geneva. He is a member of Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. 

He is married to Tin Tin Si with 3 adult children (Angela, Bernard, and Christopher). They are members of Home City Church in Perth, Western Australia.
