Paul Mwirichia is the Response Director at Word Vision Uganda. He is a seasoned leader with over 22 years of experience in management, leadership, and humanitarian operations. Known for his strategic thinking and resilience, Paul excels in crisis situations, providing stability and strength to his team while fostering a cooperative and comfortable environment. His dedication to the growth of individuals and society is guided by strong Christian values.
As the Director of Response at World Vision Uganda, Paul oversees the organisation's humanitarian and emergency response initiatives across the country. He is a vocal advocate for vulnerable communities, addressing critical issues such as funding cuts, refugee crises, and child participation in matters concerning their well-being. Paul also engages in discussions on natural resource management and environmental sustainability, contributing significantly to these areas.
Paul's extensive experience includes donor and external engagements, grant acquisition, budget management, and conducting feasibility studies. He is skilled in designing, implementing, and monitoring emergency and developmental relief interventions using food, non-food items, cash and vouchers, livelihoods, resilience, and protection. His work is supported by broad experience with programming opportunities funded by organisations such as WFP, UNDP, ECHO, EU-TF, UNHCR, UNICEF, ADA, MoFA, USAID, and USDA.
Known for his networking and leadership skills, Paul effectively manages complex issues and influences key decisions, positioning his organisation as a respected thought leader. He is a flexible, adaptable, and easy-going individual who fits harmoniously with those around him, always keen to alleviate the concerns of his team members.
