Family Business - Promoting Healthy Lifestyle and Physical Strength for all
A Ukrainian family who came to Georgia as tourists found themselves unable to return home due to the war, making it unsafe. They settled in Batumi, Georgia’s seaside city, and soon realised they needed to adapt to their new environment and find a way to earn a living.
Passionate about sports and a healthy lifestyle, the family decided to establish a climbing space to promote physical activity and well-being. Designed for all age groups, including children and their families, the space offers an engaging and dynamic environment for climbing enthusiasts. The activities not only help children develop physically but also support adults in easing back pain and other health concerns. The whole family is actively involved in running the small business. Mother Yanina, teenage son Temur, and father Aleksandr work at the space daily, each handling different responsibilities. With material, technical, and financial support received from World Vision Georgia, GO UP Climbing Space was able to purchase essential equipment and introduce a climbing maze to enrich the experience.
Now, the family successfully sustains themselves through their business and plans to expand further by opening a small café within the venue, offering a healthy menu for visitors. By supporting Ukrainian entrepreneurs, World Vision Georgia helps refugees achieve self-reliance, integrate into new communities, and contribute to the local economy.
