World Vision Zimbabwe Launches ENOUGH Campaign to Tackle Child Hunger

By Ronald Magweta (Communications Officer)
Recently, World Vision Zimbabwe officially launched the ENOUGH Campaign, a global initiative aimed at ending child hunger and malnutrition. The campaign seeks to improve health and educational outcomes for 2.5 million children across Zimbabwe’s ten provinces, ensuring they have access to nutritious food and the opportunity to thrive.

Zimbabwe continues to face high levels of food insecurity, worsened by climate shocks such as droughts, economic challenges, and rising costs of living. Speaking at the launch event, Food and Nutrition Council Director, Dr. George Kembo, highlighted the urgency of addressing child hunger.
"Child malnutrition remains a serious issue in Zimbabwe, with 27% of children under five suffering from stunting and 7.7% being underweight. We need collective action to ensure that no child is left behind. The ENOUGH Campaign aligns perfectly with the government’s National Development Strategy 1 (NDS1), which prioritizes food security and nutrition," he said.
World Vision Zimbabwe National Director, Dr. Assan Golowa, emphasised the campaign’s focus on not just food provision, but also proper nutrition for children.

"We believe that no child should go to school on an empty stomach. The ENOUGH Campaign is about giving children the nutrients they need to grow, learn, and thrive. Our goal is to reach 2.5 million children over the next three years, working in priority districts across all ten provinces," said Mr. Golowa.
The ENOUGH Campaign brings together governments, organisations, and communities to improve access to nutritious food, strengthen health systems, and promote sustainable livelihoods. It also supports education initiatives to transform behaviours and attitudes toward nutrition.

"Tackling child hunger is not just about responding to emergencies—it’s about long-term, sustainable solutions. By working together, we can build a future where every child has enough food to eat and a real chance at a better life," Mr. Golowa added.
Through this campaign, World Vision Zimbabwe reaffirms its commitment to ensuring a hunger-free future for every child.
